New Delhi based Micromax Informatics Ltd, which has become a known player in cheap mobile phone market in India, is said to be working on an Android phone. This Android phone will be launched around the festival of Diwali i.e. first week of November.
So far, we have seen Micromax mobiles experimenting with dual SIM QWERTY handsets or simple touchscreen devices; they are known for producing low cost handsets to the public which basically comes with no Operating System.
Over past few months, we are seeing a complete revolution taking place in Indian market with various low cost Android handsets which are attracting a lot of customers. Recently we saw many lost Android handsets like Samsung Galaxy 3, Samsung Galaxy 5, Spice Mi-300 turning around the minds of the people. New Delhi based Micromax Informatics Ltd. does not want to fall behind in this race and thus we will soon witness some stunning Android handsets from Micromax.
According to WSJ, Google is guiding the local phone manufacturers like Spice, Micromax and Olive Telecom to come up with quality Android handsets. Its aim is to produce Android handsets under the price range of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 7000. This will surely enable them to get huge response from customers. But so far, the phones that are in process of building fall under 10k range mark.
Micromax is not settling with just one Android phone, it has planned to include at least four Android phones before March 2011 in its portfolio.
