Siddu is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language romance film written and directed by K. Bhagyaraj, starring his son Shanthnoo Bhagyaraj and newcomer Chandini Tamilarasan in lead roles. Bhagyaraj himself, comedian Ganja Karuppu, Rajesh, Seetha and Avinash essay supporting roles. The film is made simultaneously in Telugu as Sare Nee Istam, which, however, stars Kannada actress Aindrita Ray as the female lead and is directed by Mahesh Chandra. Siddu +2 first attempt will be released on 10th December 2010. Film produced jointly by Moserbaer entertainments and KBR Media Pvt Ltd.
G Dhananjayan of Moserbaer, who is producing the film says, “It is a youthful entertainer and the film will have the usual masala you normally associate with a K Bhagyaraj film. It is a modern love story in which Shanthnoo has shown maturity in all departments.”
Music is composed by Dharan, teaming up with K. Bhagyaraj for the second time following a successful collaboration in Parijatham (2006). The soundtrack album, which released on 31 October 2009, features six songs, with two of them being composed by Thaman and Babu Shankar, and another one being a remix from Bhagyaraj’s Idhu Namma Aalu (1988). Notably, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and film director Venkat Prabhu’s had lent their voices for each a song. “Poove Poove” in particular became popular and a chartbuster. Lyrics were penned by Na. Muthukumar, Babu Shankar and Amudhamani.
