Deepika Padukone looked an absolute stunner as she was awarded the Jewellery Style Icon 2010 at the 6th Retail Jewellery Association Awards 2010 held in Mumbai.

The award ceremony began with an homage to Deepika, showcasing several of her magazine covers, and photo shoots from the last several years.

Deepika was gracious in accepting the award saying, “I believe jewellery enhances a womans beauty and it is certanly my best friend”.

Deepika revealed that her favourite type of jewellery is south Indian temple jewellery.

Actress Deepika Padukone has welcomed the fact that she has received an award in the jewellery category for the first time.

“I am very happy with this honour because this is the first time that I’m getting such an award. Normally, when I was a model, we used to get for shows and for movies. This is the first time that I have got an award in jewellery category,” said Padukone.
