Music maestro A R Rahman (also called, Mozart of Madras) bagged the best original song trophy at the 16th Critics’ Choice Awards for his number ‘If I Rise’ in Danny Boyle’s film ‘127 Hours’.

Written by Rollo Armstrong and American artiste Dido, the song was performed by Rahman and Dido, which is also expected to get Rahman his second Golden Globe this year.

Boyle, who went on to score eight Oscars with his last film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, collaborated with Rahman again for ‘127 Hours’, a biopic on the life of mountain climber Aron Ralston.

Rahman, however, lost the best score trophy to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for their film ‘The Social Network’.

The Slumdog Millionaire combo is back! Yes, ace director Danny Boyle and A R Rahman are back together and this time, with a movie titled 127 Hours.

Despite Rahman’s involvement in the film being kept under wraps, the teaser trailer of this flick (that released recently) reveals that the Mozart of Madras is indeed the composer of the film.

The film is based on a true story of real-life mountaineer Aron Ralston and his brush with death. The climber cuts the lower half of his right hand to free himself from a fallen boulder. The film narrates his journey and how he recalls friends, lovers, family, and the two hikers he met before his accident., a mountain climber who amputated his arm to free himself after being trapped in a boulder for nearly five days, has Spiderman star James Franco playing the lead.

The Boyle-Rahman pair rocked the film scene in 2008 with Slumdog Millionaire, which won eight Academy Awards besides a series of other international awards. The music composer’s Jai Ho…, which featured in the film, went on to become the toast of Hollywood and gave the Indian composer international recognition.

The screenplay of 127 Hours is by Writer Simon Beaufoy of Slumdog fame is back as the script writer for this film as well. Boyle will direct the film.,who was also a part of the Slumdog team. The movie is expected to hit the screens this November.
