Bunty – played by Aditya Roy Kapoor – is in a fix. He loves his girlfriend Tanya, but he just can’t bring himself to promise her marriage and a happily-ever-after.
And he blames his parents for this. His phobia for matrimony stems from his parents Kishen (Akshay Kumar) and Mala’s (Aishwarya Rai) acrimonious marriage.
Meet Mala, a bored shopaholic. If her car stereo conks off, she wouldn’t just buy a new stereo – she would buy herself a new car.
And now meet Kishen, the proud owner of the popular Bollywood Cafe. Henpecked by his wife, he spends most of his time shopping for the cheapest vegetables available.
Bunty tries to sow some love and peace by throwing the two a surprise 35th wedding anniversary party. However, the party deteriorates into yet another explosive fight between Kishen and Mala.
And we learn that things were not too great either when Kishen and Mala first met each other – back in 1965.
In those days, Kishen was a certified nerd who was bullied merciless by his father, and Mala was a tomboy who couldn’t stand Kishen and loved ragging him.
Now, back in 2010, Tanya’s grandfather, Professor Anthony Gonsalves, gives Bunty a deadline – get married or stop seeing Tanya. He has to do something drastic. So he steals the professor’s time machine and decides to travel back in time to set things right – to make his parents fall in love, thus ridding himself of his phobia. Bunty has his work cut out for him. He has to transform his father from a wimp into an eligible bachelor. And he has to transform his mother from a tomboy into the epitome of feminine grace. And finally, the impossible task – make them fall in love with each other!
Will it all have a happy ending or will it land up blowing up in Aditya’s face. Catch Action Replayy this Diwali to find out.
